On the initiative of the Real Maestranza de Caballería de Sevilla and under the direction and design of Mauricio d’Ors, a collection of photography books, Imágenes de la Maestranza, has been published over the past few years. In 2012 I have been invited to participate in this project which, in principle, does not seek the traditional bullfighting imageries, but the personal approach of a photographer on this world as fascinating as contradictory. Thus, during that year and the next, I went to photograph Seville and its bullring, in each bullfighting season.
