Nolwenn Brod followed in the footsteps of Polish writer Witold Gombrowicz (1904-1969).
From Poland to Argentina, via Paris and the south of France to Vence, she has followed in his footsteps, with the Time of Immaturity dear to the writer as her viaticum.
Set in the political and social context of their time, and in the long time of history and memory, Nolwenn Brod’s photographs depict a present
of immaturity in action. Memory and pain both surface and leave complex marks on the skin of the people photographed.
Nolwenn Brod’s images offer an amalgam of expressed sensitivity, multiple expressions of desire and sensuality materialised in a shared present,
as much as a sense of flaying. Religious ecstasy mingles here with powerful sensuality, violence with gentleness.
The series of photographs is followed by an interview between Nolwenn Brod and Fabien Ribery.
