Jours intranquilles
“For the first time In May 1993, I went to Algeria to make a photographic report on Algiers.
This first trip to Algeria resonated with me in a very special way. It was the first time I had ever walked on the land where my father was born and of which I knew nothing until then.
My father is Algerian and my mother is French, but my Algerian origin has always been hidden from me. Until my sixteen’s, I had never met my paternal family of whom I knew nothing.
I knew my father’s birthplace, which I read in the family booklet, and that was enough to find them in Setif region, a small village, in May 1993, where a row of weeping women welcomed me with a flock of “youyous!”. ”
