Of all the cultural traits that characterize us in this country, our relationship with winter is without a doubt the most profound. An ambiguous relationship, oscillating between love and hate. From October to April, we live in an environment shaped by cold and snow. More than just a season, winter invents us. Winter is within us. If winter has so inspired our poets and singers, our filmmakers, our painters and our storytellers, Quebec photography had not yet delivered its vision of it. This book was born with this in mind. To renew the representation of this season and measure the place it occupies in Quebec photography, 25 photographers and 10 writers meet and invite us to reflect on what shapes our experience of winter in Quebec.
