Bruno Boudjelal captures the Turkish community in its geographical and professional diversity while constituting a first memory of this immigration. Bruno Boudjelal delivers slices of life, captured in the ineffable equation between here and elsewhere.
In 1994, he continues to dig the furrow of immigration’s tears and becomes attached to the Turks here. He traveled all over France to photograph the Turkish community and thus attempted to constitute the beginning of a memory of this immigration. He is assisted by the association Elele, migrations et cultures de Turquie (Elele, migrations and cultures of Turkey), which opens his network of relations.
Through his sensitive, sometimes melancholic, often decadent gaze, the photographer introduces vitality, shakes up certain clichés and shows images where tradition confronts modernity. He offers a panorama of a population that is widely diversified in its establishment in France and occupies different employment sectors.
