For an alliance between social sciences and photography
For one year, eight photographers (Julie BALAGUÉ / Cédric CALANDRAUD / Martin FLORI / William GAYE / Elsa LAURENT / Rose LECAT / Anne LEROY / Ivan MATHIE) developed photographic work with methodologies from the social sciences, in a workshop proposed by VU’Éducation and designed by the photographer Jean-Robert Dantou with Mathias Nouel, photo editor, and the sociologists Thibaut Menoux and Florence Weber .
Motivated by the conviction that a photograph that is more aware of its effects can meet a sociology that is attentive to the visual dimension of its objects, we would like to give the keys to this original experience and share our enthusiasm for an approach whose aim is also to reconnect with the places, the moments and the people who inhabit them.
