Created in 1925 in the Crimea, on the shores of the Black Sea, Artek, the most famous holiday camp for young teenagers, symbolized the success of the communist regime. Since the break-up of the USSR, despite profound social and political changes, Artek is still an important step in the lives of young Russian teenagers.
Every year, nearly 4,500 children stay in Artek. The uniform has disappeared, the ideology is more discreet, but everything that distinguishes adolescence remains: moments of solitude, fragility, metamorphosis of the body, discovery of the other, game of seduction. Since 1993, Claudine has visited Artek four times. She looks at this vulnerable age with deep respect and fascination.
