For two years and until his death, which they both knew would come soon, Xavier and Steeve met every Thursday at 3pm. Xavier took an active part in this work and the two men photographed each other, in 6×6 format, in black and white and in color. “I wanted to capture the evolution of his photographic vision over time and our meetings”, explains Steeve Iuncker. Each week, Xavier selected his favorite portraits from those taken during the previous session and explained to Steeve his choice in a few words that are included in the book. Xavier died on a Thursday. This book is an important work in the contemporary history of photographic portraiture.
