Depuis la levée des sanctions internationales contre Téhéran l’année dernière qui marquait le retour de l’Iran dans le système économique mondial, l’image du pays tend à se renouveler.

Le tourisme, encouragé par des accords avec plusieurs pays du monde, dont notamment la France, participe à ce changement de représentation. En dépit de certaines règles strictes auxquelles il faut toujours se plier, les voyageurs découvrent la richesse du patrimoine iranien et de son peuple, chaleureux et très cultivé.

Ce pays plein de contradiction, la photographe franco-iranienne Isabelle Eshraghi, le documente et l’interroge depuis plus de vingt ans pour mieux en révéler la complexité.
Quoi qu’il en soit, l’ouverture de l’Iran et le développement de la coopération à l’international sont au cœur des enjeux des prochaines élections présidentielles, qui auront lieu à la mi-mai 2017.
