Covid-19: Frankfurt lockdown

For the past few weeks Ferhat Bouda has been chronicling the Covid-19 situation on the streets of his home town, Frankfurt am Main.

Compared to Italy, Spain or even France, the sanitary situation in Germany is still under control and the Lnder remain independent in the decision-making process.
In the Land of Hesse, the confinement of the population is not mandatory, but teleworking has become widely accepted, turning the streets of the financial district into a desert.
On the banks of the Main River, the inhabitants of Frankfurt are enjoying the sunshine of early spring: a vision that contrasts with the images of other major European cities.

With more than 500,000 tests per day, Germany seems to be succeeding in containing the epidemic which, in neighboring countries, is saturating hospitals and confining the inhabitants.
