Afghanistan, Inside Kunduz Hospital

On friday September the 2nd 2015, the bombing of the Doctors without Borders hospital in Kunduz, Afghanistan, which would be dued to an american raid, caused 16 deaths - 9 of them being MSF employees - and 37 serious casualties. Andrew Quilty, based in Afghanistan, photographed this establishment in May 2015.

Kunduz had been the theatre of clashes between the Tabilans and the Afghani security forces for a week. The MSF health centre is the only hospital in northern Afghanistan which is capable of curing serious injuries and which provides a precious help to the local populations of the area who suffer from the clashes between the Talibans and the pro-government conter-attacks.
