Juan Manuel Castro Prieto went to Peru for the first time in 1990. He goes then to Cuzco where the archives of the great Peruvian photographer Martin Chambi (1891-1973) are conserved. From this first trip, during which he produces prints from negatives on glass plates, he develops a special relationship with this country that he has never finished exploring since that time. At the beginning of the year 2020, he leaves for a new journey in the Peruvian mountains, in order to meet the isolated populations.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>

Through the passionate look that he carries on this country, he makes the portrait of women and men in their traditions and their daily life. More than a work of documentation, Juan-Manuel Castro Prieto comes back on his own tracks, in the heart of isolated villages and continues to tell the personal myth that the country inspires him.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>
