Reporting from Nova P\u00e1dua, a small town of Italian settlement in the middle of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, in the context of the Brazilian municipal elections in November 2020.<\/p>\n

In the 2018 presidential election, far-right President Jair Bolsonaro scored his best national result here: 93% of the vote. The city has earned a nickname for it: “Cidade Bolsonaro.” In this white, prosperous, rural Brazil, the security and reactionary theses continue to be successful.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>
