The station of Juvisy (Essonne), in the southern suburbs of Paris, is one of the busiest in France in normal times.
\nDuring the lockdown, the trains are half empty. There are still some shadowy workers, who sometimes board the train with fear in their stomachs.
\nThese photographs were taken at the request of the newspaper Liberation during the hours of hiring and debauchery last April. They show that these are first of all French people from immigrant backgrounds, precarious workers living on the outskirts of big cities, who made the country and its economy work by risking their health and that of their families.
\nWhen the majority of us were confined to our apartments or our country houses, an invisible minority allowed everything not to collapse.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>
