Denis Dailleux, who lives in Cairo, never stops showing the Egyptian people, with whom he fell in love fifteen years ago.<\/p>\n

“Mother and son” is certainly his most personal and disturbing series. With modesty and delicacy, he takes us into the intimacy of families where the son’s absolute love for his mother resonates like a universally touching ode. He takes a tender and straightforward look that reveals the fine borders between protection and domination, tenderness and submission, which govern mother\/son relations, and perhaps more broadly, relations between women and men in the Mediterranean world.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>

These twenty photographic portraits of rare subtlety are accompanied by a literary text by Philippe Mezescaze, who is well acquainted with Denis Dailleux’s work.<\/p>\n
