Constructing a slow work (this series was started six years ago), Patrick Taberna photographs essentially on travel, and his family is his only subject, or at least it is the red thread that inspires and accompanies all his photography.<\/p>\n

This need for travel (not necessarily far away) is a stimulation for the imagination, to rediscover a childhood spirit where every day is rich in discoveries, where the mind is entirely dedicated to the moment.<\/p>\n

“A contretemps”: it is, in a slight shift in relation to daily life, a photography of sensations, open to the world of childhood, to this workshop of memories where lasting impressions are formed.<\/p>\n

Simplicity is a difficult balance to achieve. Patrick Taberna succeeds in his photography to make us share this happiness with a simple and unique look.<\/p>\n

Bernard Plossu wrote in his afterword to “Au fil des jours”: “What I feel, seeing these images of Patrick Taberna, is that he needs them to live…”. Indeed, this photograph is essential because it starts from a necessity, that of preserving (rediscovering) this primordial sensation, at once common and absolutely personal, this “Rosebud” that inhabits us more than we think: the memory of childhood.<\/p>\n
