About Supernature, Fran\u00e7ois Fontaine evokes an “imaginary safari”. Taken with an analog Leica camera from animal documentaries, these photographs are like film details. As a hunter, he prepares the focus and chooses his moment, working instinctively in search of images that he describes as “chromatic and dreamlike”. Souvenirs of vignettes, playing cards, illustrated books or comic books, they seem to emanate from a half-awake child’s dream.<\/p>\n

After more than thirty years of traveling the world, the artist returns to explore the fantasies that inspired his tireless search for beauty and exoticism. Guided above all by his emotion, he captures the imaginary part that hides in the folds of reality and its images.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/p><\/div>
