Pieter Ten Hoopen’s award-winning series documents the largest migrant caravan of all time, with nearly 7,000 travellers, including at least 2,300 children, according to UN agencies.
\nLast October and November, thousands of Central American migrants joined a caravan heading for the US border. “Chartered as part of a grassroots campaign on social media, the caravan left San Pedro Sula, Honduras, on 12 October, soon swelling with refugees from Nicaragua, El Salvador and Guatemala who were fleeing economic conditions, violence or political repression in their countries in the hope of finding a better future.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section>
