Each year, two confirmed artists, a photographer and a writer are in residence in Brittany (3 years / 3 cities) to create a work on the theme “dreamed territory”. The work (about 30 images and texts) is exhibited in the public space of the partner city and is the subject of an art book published by Editions Contrejour.
The first city to host this three-year programme is Saint-Malo, and for this first, freedom is given to two women – Maia Flore, photographer, and Albane Gellé, poet – two forms of creation that regenerate and dialogue with each other.
Organized by the association l’art à l’ouest, “Territoire Rêvé” is part of the cities’ desire to offer the general public a cultural trail in connection with an event or during the summer season. For the city of Saint-Malo, this exhibition will echo the Printemps des Poètes in March 2020. This exhibition outside the walls is the continuation of the innovative experience of the Urban Art Exhibition (art in the city), carried out by l’art à l’ouest in partnership with the company Abri Services, a patron of the arts, on its street furniture (Voyage Ordinaire, 2017 and Skholè, 2018) in Saint-Nazaire.
