Photomed 2014 features the recent work of Denis Dailleux about the martyrs.

Denis Dailleux pays tribute to martyrs, these men and women – often young – who were killed during the Egyptian revolution of January 28, 2011, victims of police violence and pro-Mubarak militias. He proposes a unique and powerful installation, available with three images – a portrait of the martyr family, a portrait of the martyr and a photograph of the place of life – accompanied with texts by Abdellah Taia and Mahmoud Farag that trace the life of the deceased and the nature of their commitment. Three years after the insurrection, while the coup of July 3, 2013 caused hundreds of deaths and the division of society, this work reveals significantly individual trajectories that have contributed to this major pan of History contemporary.

Exhibition at the Atelier des artistes, Sanary-sur-Mer.

Opening : Wednesday, May 21st
